There is much more than just the shingles when it comes to your roof. On top of the roof deck, there are six major components to your roofing system. Each component serves an important purpose to the roofing system to protect your home. Starting with a fresh deck, you would start with your leak barrier along the eaves of you roof, followed by the roof deck protection and starter course of the shingles. You have now installed the base of your roof system and can begin the installation of the shingles, ventilation choice (attic vents or ridge vent), and last the ridge shingles.

In addition to teaching our employees the roofing trade, Gardner Roofing has been providing insurance adjusters with education and training for more than 7 years on correct material identification.
